# Shopping with Crowd Factory

Crowd Factory connects independent designers, local 3D printing makers and customers looking for finished objects. The public Shop previews the launch catalogue.

## Current stage

Shop and Custom are in pre-launch. Orders and custom production requests are not open. Published products, configuration information, price estimates and cart review links are available. A published listing or successful quote does not establish maker capacity, stock or delivery dates. Prices are indicative for the launch; final tax and shipping are not established by a net quote.

- Individual product pages provide server-rendered descriptions, configuration details, canonical URLs and Product JSON-LD. Product URLs and translated equivalents are in the [sitemap](https://www.crowdfactory.shop/sitemap.xml).
- Product pages remain the indexed representation. There is no separate per-product Markdown feed; current configuration and quotes are also available through MCP.
- Public MCP tools: customer_search_products, customer_get_product, customer_get_tier_quotes and customer_prepare_cart. Search accepts natural-language intent across titles, descriptions, categories, use cases, tags and available attributes, with ranked full or partial lexical matches. category remains an exact filter; partial matches need review against the requested constraints. Use limit and offset to page results.
- Prefer the catalogue's official public image_url for presentation. Every official gallery image has a stable WebP URL; product HTML, Product JSON-LD and the image sitemap expose the gallery. thumbnail_url retains the original cover and may have no filename extension. customer_get_product returns images and native MCP image content in pages of up to three views: use imageOffset/imageLimit and follow imagePage.nextImageOffset to see more. Hosts control whether URL images or native image blocks are displayed; a JSON image field alone does not create a shopping card. If images do not render, provide official image links and product descriptions, without substituting generated imagery.

## Configure and compare

Products expose options_schema, material_requirements and color_spec_v2. Materials can be locked. Colour configurations can be single, multi, variants or slots. A cart requires a valid options.color_selection_v2 even for a single-colour product, plus the product's required options. Quantities are integers from 1 to 10000; a cart contains at most 50 lines.

customer_get_tier_quotes returns current EUR, GBP or USD estimates for the supplied quantity, options and optional two-letter buyer country. Standard, premium and pro have individual states; only returned available tiers have usable prices. Price fields are in cents and identify net and gross amounts and the known tax basis. Missing tax information is not a tax-inclusive price guarantee.

## Review a selection

customer_prepare_cart validates and reprices the complete selection and returns a browserUrl. It does not save or populate a browser cart, purchase an item, reserve production or take payment. The customer reviews the selection and explicitly confirms it in the browser. customer_open_checkout returns a URL for an existing browser cart; it does not populate that cart or open pre-launch ordering.
